Puppies have a lot of learning to do in their early months, especially when it comes to navigating their new environment and adopting good manners. Training your new addition can seem overwhelming, which is why our trainers will be with you every step of the way developing the skills and behaviors necessary to establish a foundation of trust and understanding between you and your pup.

 

Puppy Training 101 is designed to guide you through everything from potty training to how to communicate effectively with your dog. The course will help build your puppy's confidence and establish boundaries to prevent unwanted behaviors such as, nipping, destructive chewing, and separation anxiety. During private lessons your puppy will learn:

  • Potty training

  • Crate training

  • Name recognition

  • To stop nipping/biting

  • Socialization

  • Let's go

  • Wait

  • Place

  • Come

  • Sit/down

  • Sit/stay

  • Down/stay

  • Customized commands to suit your needs

Once your puppy has mastered all of these commands, we will integrate him/her into group classes. Our group classes are designed to build socialization skills and help your dog overcome real-life distractions and challenges.

How many private lessons are included in the program?

The program typically includes eight private lessons depending on your dog's advancement.

 

How long is a private lesson?

Each private lesson takes 30-45 minutes. Our trainers base the length of each lesson on the dog's stamina and ability to effectively continue with the training process. We believe it's important to pay attention to how the dog is feeling and not push beyond their ability for the day.

 

How many group lessons are included in the program?

There are eight graduate group lessons included in the Puppy Training 101 package. If you would like to continue training after graduation, a class pass is available for purchase.

 

Will I have a dedicated trainer?

Yes. Once we have completed your evaluation, we will match you with one of our experienced trainers who will guide you throughout the process and be available to answer questions during your Puppy 101 journey. 

 

How long does it take to complete the program?

The program is typically completed in 13-18 weeks. However, if your dog is not ready for graduation at that time, you may continue to come at no additional cost until they have completed all the necessary requirements.
